Ariel J. Ben-Sasson, Ph.D
Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Ariel J. Ben-Sasson is the Co-Founder and CTO of ZipBio. Prior to ZipBio, Ariel served as a research scientist and HFSP Cross Disciplinary Fellow at the Institute for Protein Design (Baker Lab, UW). Ariel’s research focused on protein materials design, de novo protein design, ML, and functional/conductive bio-materials. Ariel’s recent publications include designing the first binary protein materials (Nature 2021), applying those to control cell fate (Cell 2023), and exploring physics-informed neural networks protein design methods. Ariel received his PhD at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology where he developed the polymer based self-assembly Vertical Organic Field Effect Transistor (VOFET). His research garnered awards from the SPIE, EMRS, MRS, TSMC, the Azrieli Fellowship, and 9 first author refereed publications. Ariel graduated cum laude with a B.Sc. in Biomedical Eng., focusing on NNs feedback algorithms.
